OUR STORY
THE BRAND
A unique blend of culture with innovation, India is home to a tremendous variety of handicrafts and production techniques. Yet, the availability of these products remains low, and the kind of respect and value that local artisans rightfully deserve is meager.
The Pitara Project addresses exactly this gap.
To celebrate the ‘treasure chest’ that is homegrown Indian artisanal work, The Pitara Project, a home décor and lifestyle brand, is committed to bringing to the fore the inherent creativity of India in a way that is modern, stylish and chic. Each of our products tells a unique story, about how they came to be and where they come from. They will allow you to both, fill your home with pieces that have an aesthetically “wow” factor, while remaining sustainable and responsible.
Traditional Indian handicrafts have been ushered in to the 21st century, it’s time you open the ‘pitara’ that awaits you!

OUR CRAFT
At The Pitara Project, we create beautifully handmade home and lifestyle products. We work with artisans throughout India, combining design with natural and sustainable materials. Whether it’s the karigar’s(artisans) distinctive style, the character of the piece or the inspiration behind its origins, there’s always more to tell than meets the eye. Every product has a story
India has a rich heritage of exquisite natural materials. Our collections are made using a traditional handmade process, where the materials are carefully selected and set in the final design
Some of the materials used by us are Marble, Agate, Mango Wood amongst others
Mango wood is a sustainable source of hardwood. The mango trees are initially grown for their fruit, but once they have stopped producing fruit they can be cut down and used to create wood products with a beautiful colour and grain. This allows farmers to plant more trees and provides them with a supplementary income.
The intricate patterns and textures of our pieces are created by hand. The master craftsmen utilise their skills to create eye-catching designs that lift these products from simplicity to sophistication
The materials we work with shape our collections and play a key part in our look and values. We choose to work with natural materials through sustainable methods of production. Our aim is to continue to tap this ‘pitara’ of materials made available by nature to create a range of great products for your home
